TRIGUN-Badlands Rumble the movie
Known for its Space Western theme,
Trigun is about a man named "Vash
the Stampede" and the two Bernardelli Insurance Society employees who
follow him around in order to minimize the damages inevitably caused by his
appearance. Most of the damage attributed to Vash is actually caused by bounty
hunters in pursuit of the "$$60,000,000,000" (sixty billion
"double dollars") bounty on Vash's head for the destruction of the
city of July. However, he cannot remember the incident clearly due to his
amnesia. Throughout his travels, Vash tries to save lives using non-lethal
force. He is occasionally joined by a priest, Nicholas D. Wolfwood, who, like
Vash, is a superb gunfighter with a mysterious past.
As the series
progresses, we learn more about Vash's mysterious history and the history of
human civilization on the planet Gunsmoke. The series often employs comic
relief and is mostly light-hearted although its tone shifts toward darker and
more dramatic situations as the series draws to a conclusion. The story line
also involves moral conflict pertaining to the morality of killing other living
things.
The story synopsis
The story is set in Makka,a town
surrounded by quicksand. With rumors spreading that the legendary robber Gasback
has his sights set on the town, the mayor Kepler has brought together bouty
hunters to protect the town. These bounty hunters have been following Gasbacks
from town to town in hopes of bagging the prize.merly and Milly, two characters
previously seen in Yasuhiro Nightow's manga and the later television anime
series, have come to town to assess the situation as insurance agents, but are
shocked by this turn of evants. Moreover,Vash the Stempede is also in town, along
with the female bounty hunter Ameria andfan-favourite character Wolfwood.
The character
Vash
the Stampede-Weapon : Silver.45 Colt Revolver,Angel Arm(right hand)
and hidden weapon(left arm)
Is a very
lighthearted, expert marksman that tries to promote love and peace as he
personally said in several episodes. He appears to be a very merry person that
dislikes seriousness, but is actually very deep and serious as can be seen in
the situations he finds himself in. He usually presents a smiling façade, which
Wolfwood is prone to call a "false smile." Beneath this smile lies a
lot of pain and the burdens that Vash has chosen to carry. Also known as The Humanoid
Typhoon,
he is a wandering gunman with a 60 billion double dollar bounty on his head.
Every town he passes through either labels him "an act of God" or
"a human disaster."
Meryl Stryfe
and Milly Thompson –Weapon : 50 American Derringers and giant
Stungun
Are two
Bernardelli Insurance agents sent to evaluate claims regarding the Humanoid
Typhoon. Initially, they dismiss the idea that the real Vash is the legendary
Humanoid Typhoon (partially due to the lack of an introduction), but the two
eventually learn (much to the contradiction to what Meryl wants to think) that
this is the person they are assigned to track.
Nicholas
D. Wolfwood
–Weapon :
Cross Punisher
A superb
gunman, almost equal to Vash himself, and arguably the most skilled human being
with a pistol in the series, Wolfwood is a priest who wields an enormous cross
"to carry his sins", however, the cross contains a machine gun and a
rack of automatic pistols. Wolfwood and Vash get into many conflicts over the
morality of murder. According to Wolfwood's mentor "... we are sometimes
driven to become the devil himself." Wolfwood is a tragic figure in that
his redemption comes at a terrible cost.
Gasback-Weapon : mechanical gauntlet(right arm) contains a rotating,
triple-barreled machine gun and rocket launcher
He is a
powerfully built, intelligent, cunning and highly driven thief who only
executes the most difficult and rewarding robberies. He has built a reputation
as being one of the most skillful and dangerous thieves in the world and
eventually accrues a bounty of $$300 million double-dollars. At the beginning
of the movie he is betrayed during a bank robbery by his three henchmen who are
tired of the escalating cost and danger of each successive heist. They split
the stolen money among themselves and prepare to kill Gasback, but he is saved
through the intervention of Vash the Stampede.
Twenty years
later Gasback has hunted down his three henchmen who betrayed him and has taken
his revenge by stealing their wealth and destroying their businesses, property
and possessions. It is then revealed that Gasback is, in fact, Amelia's father
who had left her mother many years ago to pursue his life of crime. Gasback
left her and his unborn daughter well provisioned, but rival thieves stole much
of what they owned except for a special glove that Gasback made for Amelia's
mother to protect her. Amelia uses this glove to counter an energy-based weapon
that Gasback uses in an attempt to defeat Vash. Amelia decides to follow Vash's
example and does not kill Gasback, but allows him to be taken into custody. He
is last seen in chains contemplating the actions of Vash and Amelia.
Amelia-Weapon : special mechanical glove to counter an energy-based
weapon Gasback used
She
initially meets Vash the Stampede aboard a sand steamer where he comes to her
aid while she is being accosted by thugs. Vash attempts to win her over with
flattery and fanciful tales of them being destined to meet, but she shrugs him
off. Amelia shows a peculiar and often humorous allergic reaction to being
touched by men which causes her to break out and itch. She is strong and
capable as a bounty hunter, but often show signs of youth and innocence
especially when it comes to her low tolerance for alcohol. She is initially
little more than irritated by Vash and later brought to anger by his actions,
but she gradually comes to accept his outlook on life.
Amelia wants
revenge on Gasback for the suffering he caused in her early life and especially
the suffering he caused her mother. Originally she blames Vash for this because
he allowed Gasback to escape from a botched robbery which led to countless
lives being affected by the thief's continuing crime spree. At the climax of
the movie it is revealed that Amelia is actually Gasback's daughter and that
her mother had decided to turn down Gasback's offer to travel with him as he
committed his robberies. The thief had even crafted a special mechanical glove
that would protect her, but she refused and passed the glove on to Amelia who
used it to counter an energy-based weapon Gasback used as a last ditch effort
to defeat Vash.
She intended
to kill Gasback for causing her mother to suffer at the hands of other thieves
and callous neighbors who would not help the wife of such a notorious criminal,
but she spares his life, following Vash's example. Gasback and his posse are
taken into custody and Amelia is seen driving along watching the police caravan
at a distance before taking off on her own.
